Hello, I am Sophie
Project manager. Parent. Expat living in Zurich, Switzerland.
A few years back I moved here with my family. What began as a temporary contract gradually became a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Began
Moving to Switzerland wasn’t part of our long-range plan. Like many international assignments, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far bigger.
The early months were demanding — new systems, new routines, new expectations. Everyday tasks felt more tangled than they should.
The Adjustment Period
We faced culture shock, doubt, and a lot of learning by doing. Yet gradually, routines settled in. We found places that suited us, connected with other families, and began building something that felt steady.
Why I Created TorKinSylTovin
Most online resources were either corporate relocation guidance or superficial tourism content. What was missing was a candid, everyday family viewpoint.
This site exists to fill that void — practical advice drawn from real life in Switzerland.
